GHT is seeking to recruit enthusiastic and engaging individuals to support the team as we relaunch our 2021 programme. Our volunteers are key in GHT fulfilling its mission of enabling heritage to inspire the arts and to offer a chance to engage our local communities in this fascinating part of our city’s history.
Whether you are looking to share your knowledge of this iconic heritage venue or champion the work of local artists in the GHT Shop, we value and appreciate experience and skills from people of all backgrounds and in return can offer a fulfilling, enjoyable experience for our team of volunteers.
We are looking for volunteers with an interest in one or a combination of the following areas:
Heritage Heroes – responsible for tours, information around the building and all things heritage.
Gallery Volunteers – responsible for invigilating and conducting tours around the gallery spaces, sharing information about the artists and the work to visitors, and ensuring the galleries are well maintained.
Media Volunteers – helping us with social media, writing blog posts, conducting interviews and creating online content.
Community Volunteers – helping us spread the word out and about, acting as advocates for GHT in the community and assisting us with our projects and events in the community, both at the venue and beyond.
Retail Volunteers – helping us run and maintain the online shop and the shop in the GHT foyer, and keeping an eye out for new artists to recruit and bring their work to the shop.
As a volunteer, you will receive regular training opportunities, the opportunity to meet and work alongside people of all ages and backgrounds and a varied role which can be adapted to suit your strengths and interests.
