Bringing together some of the most exciting acts on the UK roots scene, Autumn Roots celebrates the South Coast talents of folk/rock singer-songwriter Sorrel Nation, roots collective Washed Out Parade and alt-country trio Lost Post.
Sorrel Nation is a singer-songwriter who brings a soulful mix of folk/country/rock with powerful vocals and haunting melodies. She is on tour across the UK in September/October 2024 to celebrate the launch of her debut album, Lost On Route.
Washed Out Parade are a roots collective based in Hampshire, showcasing crafted originals and choice covers from the footstompin’ to the heartwrenchin’. They’re going into the studio in Autumn 2024 to record their debut album of original material.
Lost Post are an alt-country trio based in Southampton. The band draw on the rich storytelling elements of both old-time American and traditional English music, woven into a unique blend of foot-stomping country, swampy blues and delicate folk music.
Sorrel Nation
Kent born songstress Sorrel Nation brings a soulful mix of folk/country/rock with powerful vocals and haunting melodies. She engages audiences with her heartfelt, emotive and relatable songwriting and is known for her earthy 1970’s inspired style.
Born to sing into a household of eclectic musical influences, Sorrel was first onstage at the age of 10 with a Beatles tribute band in France, at 13 lead singer in a folk/rock band and has now opened for the likes of folk legends Martin Simpson, Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick, as well as John Otway, Tom Hingley, Canadian Vocal Group of the Year Madison Violet, folk-punksters 3 Daft Monkeys, Irish singer Gemma Hayes and the incomparable Jackie Leven.
Sorrel has performed at well known music venues in London and across the UK including The Troubadour, The Bedford, 100 Club and The Little Rabbit
Barn. She has recently performed at Glastonbury Festival, Black Deer Festival and and tours the festival circuit over summer with The Magic Teapot music venue.
Writing songs of her time, Sorrel’s beguiling voice is very much her own but with influences ranging from Stevie Nicks, Gillian Welch, Bonnie Raitt & Susan Tedeschi. And yes… Sorrel Nation is her real name.
Sorrel’s debut album, Lost On Route, will be released on October 4th 2024.
“Sorrel has one of the most beautiful voices I’ve heard in a long time – it’s so yearning and full of emotion” – Steve Balsamo – Singer/Songwriter
