Seeing Things Differently is a group exhibition made by participants on the DSLR (Develop Skills, Learn and Reflect, 16-25) workshops for young people aged 16-25, and was developed, hosted, and run by the charity In Focus Education & Development, between September 2023 and April 2024.
These free to attend open workshops are a space for young people to learn new skills, connect with others, explore their creativity and gain knowledge and experience through engaging in arts-based activities. Participants had fun with a range of creative skills including: photography, and other lens-based media, creative writing, collage, painting, montage, animation, poetry, mixed media and more.

About IN FOCUS:
“We use our shared passion and working knowledge of photography and visual arts to encourage, teach and empower young people and communities.
Putting young people at the centre of all the work we do, including ensuring our workshops are tailored to their interests, hobbies and potential career paths.
By supporting young people to make informed choices we have seen them positively reengage in their learning experience and grow in confidence. In turn this creates a safe and inclusive learning space enabling their voice to be heard.
Having the autonomy to make decisions for themselves and make better life choices in turn nurtures good mental health and wellbeing.”
