God's House At Home

Keep an eye on this page for resources and fun activities to help keep you amused during this unprecedented period in history. This page will be regularly updated with activities, games, online events and talks for you to enjoy from wherever you are.

You can also go directly to the GHT YouTube channel to see lots of events and activities.

Activities:

  • Participate in our new series of Workshops: Make and Create
Led by local emerging artists, the Make & Create workshop series is inspired by the theme: GHT beside the sea. These artists have devised a series of creative workshops which will take place at GHT, but in the meantime these activities will let you get to know the artists and try something creative at home.
  • Participate in a workshop led by artist Laura Eldret
Learn about her exhibition Those Who Look Out and Those Who Look Back and make your own artwork from home. Visit the exhibition page to take a virtual tour of the exhibition and take part.
  • Decorate your own Historic Southampton Postcard!
Choose from GHT, Tudor House or the Bargate. For some inspiration watch Amy’s video HERE.
  • Try your hand at Water Drawing!
Explore the themes of the current exhibition at God’s House Tower – consider how humans tame and consume the sea through images and products. What will you see in a splash of water? Follow the tutorial from Dace, one of our GHT Crew members HERE
  • Complete the Old Town Public Art Trail
A part of ‘a space’ arts work is commissioning and managing public art for everyone to enjoy around the country. The Public Art Trail highlights numerous public art commissions undertaken by ‘a space’ arts as well other notable public art in and around Southampton’s Old Town. The downloadable map can be printed out at home or viewed on a smart phone. While exploring the artworks make sure to abide by social distancing and avoid touching the work. Checkout the map HERE
  • Create Your Own Old Town Bingo
Download the glossary and list of words HERE, and more if you like, then make up some rhymes in true bingo-caller fashion. Then enter all of your words into a bingo card generator (we like bingobaker.com) and voila! You can be playing Old Town Bingo with your friends and family!
