From Dorset to Sussex, under the busy pavements and natural spaces of Britain’s South Coast, is a near unbroken sequence of rocks that span 200 million years of Earth’s history. Hidden in Stone is an exhibition about shifting continents, changing climates, and evolutionary radiation.

Join Neil Gostling, Associate Professor of Evolution and Palaeobiology, as he takes you on a journey through Hidden in Stone giving you more insights into the rich and diverse history below our feet from Jurassic oceans, Chalk seas, Cretaceous dinosaurs, Tropical Hampshire and the ice age, with several ‘stops’ along the way.

About this Event

Please note that the tour will likely last around 45 minutes, after which we’ll head to the GHT cafe for an informal Q&A session over a coffee. This tour is open and suitable for all including young people and their families.

The artwork for this exhibition is located in the Project Space and the Main Gallery which are both served by the lift. The ground floor cafe area also has step free access from Town Quay Road.
