Join us for GHT Lates at God’s House Tower, where live comedy, visual art and street food come together after hours!

This month, we’re celebrating local talent with a live comedy night presented by Something Comedy. Enjoy four of the UK’s most exciting up-and-coming comedians at GHT.

Between filling your belly and belly-laughing, you’ll have the opportunity to explore exhibitions after-hours, including our Stories Behind the Stones exhibition and Facing the Planet by Tessa Coe and Jane Coyle.

Comedy Line-Up

William Stone: William is a stand up comedian, joke writer and comic actor based in Brighton. He was a finalist in both the 2018 BBC New Comedy Award and Leicester Square Theatre New Act of the Year. Stuck somewhere between reality and dreams in the nineties, he navigates his way through life with one liners that highlight the absurdity of the mundane. Hilarious observational comedy. He has appeared live on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 4, written and starred in a sketch for BBC 3 Quickies and written additional material for Mock The Week and The News Quiz.

Verity Babbs: Verity’s work focuses on making art history more accessible and bringing laughter into cultural spaces. She is the author of ‘The History of Art in One Sentence’ which was published by Bloomsbury in 2025. Verity is the founder of Art Laughs live art-themed comedy events which frequently perform at the National Gallery. She regularly performs with Giddy Aunt Improv (Leicester Comedy Festival Best Variety Show Nominee 2026) and has appeared with Criminal Improv and the Oxford Imps.

Joe Wells: Joe Wells made his name as a political comedian with critically acclaimed Fringe shows including ‘Night Of The Living Tories’, ’10 Things I Hate About UKIP’ and ‘I Hope I Die Before I Start Voting Conservative’, in recent years he has found online and live success with more personal material about mental health and being autistic. Joe also hosts the podcast Neurodivergent Moments with Abigoliah Shamaun.

Serena Smart: Serena is a comic based in London, and the finalist of numerous comedy competitions, including British Comedian of the Year 2022, West End New Act of the Year 2023, and the Max Turner Comedy Award in 2022. She combines storytelling with one-liners and observational humour in a style that has been described as “unusually sharp” and “distinctive” by some (Chortle) and “average to sub par” by others (her brother).

Local Food Truck

And don’t forget to arrive hungry as we’ll be joined by the iconic Mama’s Kitchen serving up some authentic Thai favourites!

Please have your ticket ready when you arrive on the night for a member of the team to check at the front door.
